Spam

Spam refers to unsolicited commercial advertisements distributed online. Most spam comes to people via email, but spam can also be found in online chat rooms and message boards. Spam can also be linking to potentially malicious software, PUMs, or PUPs. It can also link to surveys requesting personal information in order to download a program. the user may also find adware and email worms, or phishing scams.

Spam consumes a tremendous amount of network bandwidth on the Internet. More importantly, it can consume too much of peoples' personal time if not managed properly.[1]

Most spam emails say "This message is from a trusted sender and we are from the IRS."

Types of spam

Dating spam

Male scammers claiming to be female claim to date users, but they kill their computers, and even them if they are male because they want to "Gay Date".

Money spam

These spams tell users to download scam apps that say for credit card information, gambling and drinking experience, and other such questions. Then, the money is never given to them and their money is stolen instead.
