Lovesong is a non-destructive virus that affects systems running Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows 98.

Lovesong message

Lovesong's message box

When the virus is executed, it displays a message box with seemingly random letters and underscores, and will infect .exe files. The virus stays dormant until it is run on the 1st of any month in or after the year 2000, when its payload activates.

When the payload activates, Lovesong will play "Saranghaeyo" (the song used in South Korean LG commercials in the mid-90's; here is the original song in context) over the PC speaker, and the computer will deny all keyboard and mouse input until it is finished. When the song ends, the user regains control and the virus displays its message box once again.
