In most technical support scam websites, Hard Drive Safety Delete is a ransom script payload that warns the user that their disk will be permanently deleted if they close the page. Alongside that, a voice-over is heard in the background, reading the text that is seen in a fake dialog box.

Hard Drive Safety Delete is also initiated via a 4 minute countdown, if the user does not call the scam number "immediately". However, Hard Drive Safety Delete actually causes no damage to the computer if they ignore or close the window.
